About Mailweight — find the heavy mail in Gmail

Running out of Google storage? Mailweight finds the email that's eating it and gets it ready for you to clear in a few clicks. WHAT IT DOES Click the Mailweight icon on your Gmail tab and a panel opens beside your inbox. Press "Sweep my mailbox" and Mailweight runs six ready-made Gmail searches. For each one it shows how many messages were found and the minimum space they're taking up: • Huge attachments: over 10 MB, older than a year • Big and forgotten: over 5 MB, older than two years • Mid-size, ancient: over 1 MB, older than three years • Old marketing mail: Promotions, older than six months • Old social notifications: Social, older than a year • Everything over five years old Found a group worth clearing? Click "Show and select." Mailweight opens that search in Gmail and ticks every match on every page, not just the 50 on screen. Look it over, press Delete, then empty Trash to free the space. WHY INSTALL IT • Clears gigabytes in minutes. No memorising search operators, and no selecting page after page by hand. • Honest numbers. 247 messages over 10 MB is "at least 2.4 GB", never an inflated guess. When Gmail only says "1–50 of many", Count exactly finds the real number. • You stay in control. Mailweight selects, but it never deletes anything on its own. Starred mail is always skipped, and most searches skip important mail too. • Private by design. No sign-in, no servers, no analytics. Everything happens inside your own Gmail tab, and nothing leaves your browser. • Stays out of your way. Progress bars show what it's doing, and the panel can be dragged, resized and closed. It remembers where you left it. GOOD TO KNOW • Mailweight reads Gmail's English interface, so Gmail's display language needs to be English for counting and selecting to work. • Deleted mail sits in Trash and still counts toward your storage until you empty Trash. • Free, with no ads and no account. Mailweight is an independent extension and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Google.
