The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Lulltab
Lulltab puts tabs you haven’t used in a while to sleep, so they stop holding memory. Sleeping tabs stay in your tab strip with their title and icon. Click one and it reloads.
HOW IT WORKS
• The idle clock starts when you switch away from a tab.
• After your timeout (15 minutes by default, anywhere from 1 minute to 24 hours), Lulltab asks the browser to discard the tab. This is Chrome’s own tab discard: the page unloads, the tab stays.
• Click the tab and the browser reloads the page.
• While Lulltab is on, Chrome’s built-in Memory Saver can’t discard tabs on its own schedule. Only your timer decides.
WHAT NEVER SLEEPS
• The tab you’re looking at
• Pinned tabs
• Tabs playing audio
• Browser pages like chrome://
• Tabs an Aside agent is working in
• Sites you keep
KEEPING SITES
• github.com keeps github.com and every subdomain
• =mail.google.com keeps only that exact host
• *.notion.so keeps subdomains, not notion.so itself
• github.com/neel keeps that path and everything below it
• https://mail.google.com/mail keeps any URL that starts with it
FROM THE TOOLBAR
• Sleep: unload the current tab now
• Keep site: never sleep this site again
• Rest after: set the idle timeout
• Sleep the rest: unload every tab except this one
• Memory: see how much RAM each open tab is using, largest first
• Alt+Shift+S sleeps the current tab. Right-click any page for the same options.
PRIVATE
Your tabs never leave your browser. Lulltab’s only network request is an optional, anonymous daily ping (a random install ID, the Lulltab and Chrome versions, and CPU type) that you can turn off in settings. No account, and your settings stay on your device.
