About Localsnap - Private Screenshots, Saved Locally
LocalSnap – Private Screenshot & Image Editor
LocalSnap is a fast and lightweight Chrome screenshot extension for capturing, editing, and saving screenshots directly on your device.
It combines flexible screenshot capture with a simple built-in editor, giving you the tools you need to capture a webpage, make quick changes, and save the finished image without requiring an account.
LocalSnap is designed with a privacy-first approach. Screenshots and edits are processed locally, with no cloud-based screenshot storage or online account required.
Capture Screenshots Your Way
LocalSnap provides three capture modes so you can choose exactly what you want to save.
Full Page
Capture a complete scrollable webpage from top to bottom. This is useful when the information you need extends beyond the visible screen.
Visible Part
Capture the current browser viewport with a single action. This is ideal when you only need what is currently visible.
Selected Area
Select a specific area of the screen and capture only that section. The selected content keeps its original size rather than being automatically resized.
Built-In Screenshot Editor
After capturing an image, LocalSnap opens it in a lightweight editor where you can make quick adjustments before saving.
Available editing tools include:
• Pencil for freehand drawing
• Rectangle
• Circle
• Arrow
• Highlight
• Text
• Blur
• Undo
• Clear all edits
The editor is designed to keep common annotation tasks simple without adding unnecessary complexity.
Color Selection
LocalSnap provides color controls for several editing tools.
Choose a color for pencil drawings, text annotations, and watermarks to make important information easier to identify.
Zoom and Fit to View
Large screenshots can be difficult to edit at their original size. LocalSnap includes simple viewing controls to make editing more comfortable.
• Zoom In for detailed work
• Zoom Out for a wider view
• Fit to View to quickly display the complete image
These controls work well with both small captures and larger full-page screenshots.
Copy or Save Your Screenshot
Once your screenshot is ready, you can either copy it directly to your clipboard or download it to your computer.
Copy to Clipboard
Copy the finished image and paste it into another application or webpage.
LocalSnap also provides visual confirmation after the image has been copied.
Download Locally
Save your finished screenshot directly to your computer.
You can choose between:
• PNG for high-quality images
• JPG for smaller file sizes
Optional Watermark
LocalSnap includes an optional watermark feature that can be enabled before saving an image.
You can also select the watermark color so it remains visible against different backgrounds.
Privacy-Focused by Design
LocalSnap is designed to keep screenshot processing on your device.
The extension does not require an account or login for its core screenshot functionality. It does not use cloud storage for your captured images.
Screenshots and edits are handled locally rather than being sent to an online screenshot service.
For information about permissions and data handling, please review the LocalSnap Privacy Policy.
Simple and Lightweight
LocalSnap focuses on the essential features needed for capturing and editing screenshots.
You can capture a page, annotate the image, make adjustments, and save or copy the result without moving between multiple tools.
The interface is designed to remain straightforward so the screenshot workflow stays quick and easy to understand.
