The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Local Mind: AI Browsing Memory
Local Mind is a private, local AI companion for your browsing history — a search engine for the pages you've actually read, not just the ones you bookmarked.
Stay on a page for more than 10 seconds, and Local Mind quietly remembers it. Later, search using plain language — "that article about vector databases," "the trilogy I looked up on IMDb" — and it finds the right page by meaning, not just keyword matching.
HOW IT WORKS
When you visit a page, Local Mind generates an AI "embedding" — a numerical fingerprint of what the page is actually about — using a small language model that runs entirely inside your browser. No server, no API calls, no account required.
100% LOCAL, BY DESIGN
- Every embedding is generated on-device using Transformers.js — nothing is ever sent to a server.
- No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking.
- The only network request this extension ever makes is a one-time download of the public AI model file, the first time it runs. After that, everything works offline.
- Search engine results pages, email (Gmail/Outlook), YouTube, banking, and government/financial sites are automatically excluded and never scraped.
- This extension does not run in Incognito windows at all.
FEATURES
- Automatic capture — no manual bookmarking, no folders to organize.
- Natural-language semantic search across everything you've saved.
- Delete any single page, or clear your entire history, anytime.
- Clear in-app visibility if anything ever fails to save.
Your browsing history is yours. Local Mind just makes it possible to actually find it again.
