About Listenr
Listenr is a Mac app that records and transcribes your meetings on your Mac, with no bot in the call. This extension is its companion for Google Meet.
With this extension, your Listenr transcripts of Google Meet calls show who said what by name.
What it reads, on meet.google.com only, and only during a call that Listenr is recording:
• the names in Meet's People panel
• who is muted
• Meet's speaking highlight, as changes in the page structure, never text
• the chat lines in the open chat panel
• who joins and leaves
What it never does: it never reads audio, video or captions, never reads other sites, never clicks or types in Meet, stores nothing in the browser, and makes no network requests. It sends what it reads only to the Listenr app on this Mac, through the browser's native messaging. From there the names and the chat go only where your meeting notes already go: a notes provider you chose, a share you make.
You need the Listenr app for Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 15 or later) from https://listenr.live. Install the app, then add this extension.
In a call, keep Meet's People panel open for the full list and who is muted, and the chat panel open for the chat. When you switch to another tab, the names keep coming while Meet's picture-in-picture window is open. Names appear after the meeting ends, with speaker labels on; a voice without clear evidence stays unnamed rather than guessed.
Works in Chrome, Arc and Brave, and in Microsoft Edge with "Allow extensions from other stores" on. Listenr also brings the same extension to Safari, inside the app. In Arc, if Add does nothing, switch to Standard protection in arc://settings/security while you add it, then switch back.
