About Lenser – Visual Search
Search what you see, without leaving your page.
Lenser sends a screenshot, a screen area or an image to Google Lens in one move, and extracts text from images right on your computer.
🔍 WHAT LENSER DOES
• Search an area: draw a rectangle on the page (Alt+Shift+L) and Lenser sends it to Google Lens.
• Search the visible page: everything on screen, with one shortcut (Alt+Shift+K).
• Right-click an image: “Search image with Lens”. Also works with images from private sites or your local network.
• Right-click a video: “Search video frame with Lens” sends the frame shown at that moment.
• Image from your computer: choose a file, drop it or paste it (Ctrl+V) into the extension popup.
• Extract text (Alt+Shift+O): select an area and the text appears, ready to copy. Recognition runs on your computer: fast, offline and private. If the text is hard to read, one button sends it to Lens. Recognizes 10 languages, including Japanese, Chinese and Korean, detected automatically; if it gets it wrong, pick the text language and Lenser reads the image again.
🔍 HANDY
• Customizable keyboard shortcuts.
• Results in a new tab or a separate window, in the foreground or background.
• Optional automatic copy of recognized text.
• Interface in 10 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. Picked automatically from your browser language, changeable in the options.
• Light, dark or system theme, one click away in the extension popup or in the options.
• A welcome guide presents the features and shortcuts right after installation.
🔍 PRIVACY FIRST
• No server, no account, no analytics, no ads.
• An image is sent to Google Lens only when you ask for it.
• Text extraction never leaves your computer.
• Minimal permissions: no permanent access to the sites you visit. Lenser only accesses the tab at the moment you use it.
🔍 GOOD TO KNOW
Some pages are protected by the browser (settings pages, Chrome Web Store), so area selection isn't possible there. Depending on the browser, Lenser then captures the visible page or shows a clear message.
