Ctrl+F / ⌘F, but it understands you. Type a word for exact matches, or describe what you mean. PDFs, Google Docs and Notion too.

About Leita: find on page by meaning
You know it's on the page. You just can't remember the words.
Leita is the find bar you already use, with one difference: it understands what you mean. Type a word that is on the page and every occurrence lights up, exactly like Chrome's own find. Type a question, an idea, or the way you'd say it to a colleague, and the passages that answer it light up instead, each with a small confidence badge. Same key, same feel. It just keeps working when you can't guess the exact wording.
What you can type
• "refund" – every occurrence, in order, like always.
• "can I get my money back" – the refund policy, even if the page never uses the word.
• "why not just use a recurrent network" – the paragraph in the paper that argues it.
• "the part about the deadline" – the one sentence that carries the date.
How it behaves
• Only strong matches are shown: at most three, best first, each with a confidence badge.
• When one sentence clearly carries the answer, just that sentence is highlighted and its paragraph gets a soft tint. When the whole paragraph is relevant, all of it is.
• Enter and Shift+Enter move between matches, Esc closes. The page itself is never altered, only highlighted.
• It remembers your last question on a page, so reopening the bar is instant.
Where it works
• Every website, including the ones that run their own find: Google Docs, Notion, web editors.
• PDFs in Chrome's own viewer. Papers, contracts, manuals: the text is read on your device, the best passages are listed by page, and the viewer moves to the top one without reloading the file.
• Google Docs: the whole document is searched, including view-only docs, and Docs itself marks the passage.
• Files opened from your disk, once you allow file access on the extension's details page.
One key
Ctrl+Shift+F (⌘⇧F on Mac) opens Leita anywhere. Flip one switch and plain Ctrl+F (⌘F) opens it on every website instead of Chrome's find bar; press the key again while the bar is open and Chrome's own find takes over, so nothing is lost. For Ctrl+F inside PDFs, Chrome asks you to set the key yourself, once, on its shortcut page; the extension's settings page walks you through it.
Private by design
• Nothing on a page is read until you open the bar on that page. Exact matches and PDF reading happen entirely on your device.
• A meaning search sends your question and the visible text of that page over HTTPS to the Leita service, which returns relevance scores. Our server doesn't save it; the extension has no accounts, no history, no identifiers and no analytics. Exact words never leave your device.
• Stored on your device: your Ctrl+F choice, an optional custom service address, and recently searched PDFs' text in session storage until the browser closes.
Free, no sign-up. Powered by TypeSafe Jev, a fast language model built for yes/no judgements, which is what makes a meaning search feel as quick as regular find.
Leita (LAY-ta) is Old Norse for “to search”.
