The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Kith
Kith is a knowledge companion for professionals who work with dense, domain-specific material every day.
**How it works**
1. Select any text on a page — a legal clause, a medical term, a code pattern, a design concept — and the Kith card appears with a contextual explanation shaped by the surrounding document.
2. Or drag over a chart, diagram, UI screenshot, or blueprint to get a visual analysis of what you marked.
3. Save the explanations worth keeping to The Archive, your private reference library that accumulates knowledge over time.
**Why context matters**
"Cell" means something different to a biologist than to a developer. Kith reads the surrounding material — page title, headings, nearby paragraphs — so the explanation fits the domain you are actually working in.
**Key features**
• Contextual text explanations — highlight any term and get an explanation aware of the surrounding page
• Visual region analysis — drag to capture charts, blueprints, medical imagery, or UI screenshots
• The Archive — save, search, and organize your explained concepts into a personal encyclopedia
• Go deeper — request expanded explanations when the initial summary isn't enough
• Related concepts — click related terms to continue exploring without leaving the card
• Private mode — reduce retained detail for sensitive work
• Site rules — allowlist, blocklist, or enable on all sites
• Hotkey support — Cmd+Shift+L to explain selection, Cmd+Shift+V for vision capture
**Built for trust**
The extension never calls AI model APIs directly. Every inference routes through the Kith backend. Your account, quotas, and billing state stay visible and explicit — not hidden inside the overlay.
**Plans**
• Trial — 3 days, 12 text explanations and 2 visual analyses per day
• Starter — 40 text and 10 vision per day
• Pro — 120 text and 30 vision per day
Selected page content is transmitted only after you invoke an explanation or visual analysis. Kith also processes account, entitlement, quota, and saved-Archive data as described in the privacy policy. There is no advertising or passive browsing history collection.
