About Kimi Chat Exporter

Save every conversation from Kimi Web (kimi.com) as one ZIP you can keep forever. Everything is generated on your own computer — nothing is sent to any server. This extension is unofficial and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Moonshot AI or Kimi. FEATURES • Full transcripts — one Markdown file per chat, with title, created/updated time and model in the header, and an ISO-8601 UTC timestamp on every message. • Lossless raw data — the untouched API JSON ships next to the Markdown, so block types the exporter does not recognize are still preserved. • Thinking, tool calls and citations — the assistant's thinking blocks, full tool call contents, search results and citations are kept. • Regenerated replies — answers hidden behind "regenerate" are kept as numbered branches (Branch 1/2, Branch 2/2) instead of being discarded. • Images, attachments and slides — media is downloaded into the archive; when a download fails the original link is kept and the failure is listed in the report. • Interruptible — close the task page, restart the browser, or recover from a crash and continue; finished work is never downloaded twice. • Fault isolation — one broken chat or file is written to error.log and counted in report.md; the export keeps going. • Flexible packaging — export the current chat, any selection of chats, or everything; package as a single ZIP, automatic multi-volume ZIPs, or one ZIP per chat. HOW TO USE 1. Open and sign in to kimi.com in Chrome. 2. Click the extension icon in the toolbar. 3. Pick a scope: the current chat, any number of chats, or all conversations. 4. Choose what to include (thinking, tool calls, citations, media) and how to package it, then start the export. 5. Keep the task page open until it finishes — if you close it, reopening offers to continue. 6. Click download and the ZIP goes to Chrome's download folder. PRIVACY AND PERMISSIONS The extension only uses your own Kimi session to read your own conversations. Your login token stays in memory; it is never written to disk and never sent to the developer or any third party. The archive is created locally and needs neither the extension nor a network connection to be read. There is no analytics, tracking or advertising code. • Read data on kimi.com — to list and download your own conversations. This is the only source of data. • Downloads — to hand the finished ZIP to a location you choose. • Context menu — to start an export directly from a kimi.com page. • Optional "Access all sites" — requested only when you include images and attachments. Kimi hosts media on several CDN domains whose addresses are not fixed and cannot be listed in advance. If you decline, the export still runs; media keeps its original link, which may expire. SUPPORT Bugs and suggestions: https://github.com/micooz/kimi-chat-exporter/issues Version 1.1.0 — exports parked for the optional media permission now resume on their own, retrying a failed file reprocesses only the chat that contains it, and unfetchable media links stay plain text instead of appearing as failures.
