About Keythentic
Sign in on your computer by approving on your phone. Your passwords stay in the Keythentic app; this extension stores nothing.
HOW IT WORKS
1. On a sign-in page, click Keythentic in Chrome's toolbar (or press Alt+Shift+K). A one-time QR code appears.
2. In the Keythentic app on your phone, tap the scan button at the top and scan it.
3. Your phone shows the site and a six-digit check code that matches the one on your computer. Pick the login and confirm with your fingerprint, screen lock or master password.
4. The username, password and current 2FA code are filled into the page.
Prefer one click? Turn on "Show Keythentic in sign-in fields" and a small key appears in login fields on every site. Sign in somewhere new by typing, and the extension offers to save that login to your phone; it is only sent after you confirm on the computer that the check codes match. This is off unless you turn it on, and Chrome asks you first.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• End-to-end encrypted. Every sign-in uses fresh keys (Noise protocol: X25519, AES-256-GCM, SHA-256). The only way into a session travels in the QR code, from your screen to your phone's camera.
• Sees nothing until you ask. By default the extension can only read the page you're on, at the moment you click it.
• Nothing stored on the computer. No passwords, keys, browsing history or settings are saved. While a request is open, the browser's memory holds which tab asked; it is cleared when the browser closes.
• The relay can't read anything. Your phone and computer meet through a small relay that only forwards encrypted bytes and keeps no logs. If anything tampers with the connection, both screens say so and nothing is sent.
• Phishing-resistant. Chrome tells the extension which site is asking, and your phone shows that site's real name and only offers logins saved for it.
• No ads, no analytics, no third-party code.
