About Keyra

Keyra fills in your passwords, saves new logins and generates strong passwords as you browse. It is the browser companion for the Keyra password manager desktop app, and your vault never leaves your computer. Important: this extension works with the Keyra desktop app. Install Keyra on your computer first, then connect the extension to it. WHAT IT DOES • Autofill in the field: Click into a login field and Keyra shows the saved logins for that site. Pick one and it fills your username, password and 2FA code. It also works on two-step sign-in pages that ask for the username and the password on separate screens. • Save logins automatically: When you sign in or create an account, Keyra offers to save the login. If you change a password, it offers to update the saved one. You can turn this off for any site with "Never for this site". • Strong password generator: Create unique passwords or PINs from 8 to 64 characters, with a strength meter. On sign-up forms, Keyra fills the password and confirm fields together. • Cards and identities: Fill payment and address forms, including card fields that sit inside payment provider frames. • Quick access popup: See the logins for the current site, search your whole vault, and copy usernames, passwords or 2FA codes in one click. • Keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+Shift+Y opens Keyra, Ctrl+Shift+L fills the login, Ctrl+Shift+9 generates and fills a password. You can also use the right-click menu, and the toolbar badge shows how many logins are saved for the site. WHY KEYRA • Local only: The extension talks only to the Keyra app on your computer (127.0.0.1). No cloud and no sync servers. • Nothing stored in the browser: Logins are requested from the app when needed and never saved in the extension. • You approve the connection: Pairing asks you to confirm a matching code in the Keyra app. The extension receives a 256-bit key, and you can remove the connection at any time. • Hidden from websites: Keyra's in-page menus run in a closed shadow DOM that web pages can't read. Lists never include passwords. A password is sent only for the single login you choose to fill. • Locked means locked: While Keyra is locked, the extension can only see whether the app is locked or unlocked. GETTING STARTED 1. Open the Keyra app and unlock it. 2. In Keyra, go to Settings → Browser and allow the browser extension. 3. Click the Keyra icon in your toolbar, choose "Connect to Keyra" and approve the code in the app.
