Quickly check earthquake information, even while working on your PC JQ Alert is a Chrome extension that receives Earthquake Early Warnings (EEW) and earthquake information and delivers notifications directly to your PC. It helps you stay informed during earthquakes through notification sounds, desktop notifications, text-to-speech, epicenter information, and strong-motion monitor displays. You can customize notification intensity thresholds, target regions, notification hours, sounds, displayed information, and more, so you receive the information that matters most to you. 【Key Features】 ■ Receive Earthquake Early Warnings and earthquake information on your PC JQ Alert receives Earthquake Early Warnings (EEW) and earthquake information and notifies you according to your configured conditions. ■ Receive only the information you need You can customize notification intensity thresholds, target regions, notification hours, notification sounds, displayed information, and more. This helps reduce unnecessary notifications and lets you focus on the information relevant to you. ■ Text-to-speech support When text-to-speech is enabled, Earthquake Early Warning information can be read aloud. This helps you stay informed while working on something else or when you are not looking at the screen. ■ Strong-motion monitor and epicenter information The Earthquake Early Warning screen lets you check the epicenter and current shaking conditions. This provides a visual overview of the earthquake situation. ■ Quick access to related information When the Auto Link feature is enabled, JQ Alert can automatically open pages containing earthquake-related information. 【Information Sources】 JQ Alert uses multiple information sources to reduce the risk of missing information due to communication failures or other issues. Information may occasionally be unavailable depending on the operating status of each service or your network connection. 【Permissions and Their Purpose】 ■ Notifications Used to display Earthquake Early Warnings and earthquake information as desktop notifications. ■ Background operation / Alarms Used to maintain information reception even when you are not actively using the browser, and to reconnect when a connection is interrupted. ■ Storage Used to store JQ Alert settings such as notification conditions, volume, target regions, display preferences, and inquiry history locally and in Chrome Sync storage. ■ Tabs Used by the Auto Link feature to check whether the same information page is already open and reuse the existing tab when possible. This permission is not used to collect your browsing history or transmit your browsing activity externally. When Auto Link is disabled, JQ Alert does not perform these tab operations. ■ Text-to-speech Used only when the user enables the text-to-speech feature to read Earthquake Early Warning information aloud. ■ Location Used only when the user enables location-based features, such as displaying the estimated arrival status of strong seismic waves at the estimated location. Location information is used only for the relevant feature and is not transmitted externally by JQ Alert. ■ Access to information provider websites Used to retrieve and display Earthquake Early Warnings, earthquake information, strong-motion monitor information, and related data. JQ Alert does not collect users' browsing activity or personal information for sale, advertising, or similar purposes. 【Privacy】 JQ Alert uses only the settings and information necessary to provide its features. It does not collect or sell browsing history or personal information, nor does it use such information for advertising purposes. Features that use information such as location data are activated only when explicitly enabled by the user, and the information is used only as necessary to provide those features. 【Important Notice】 Notifications may be delayed or may not be delivered due to network conditions, outages at information providers, distribution delays, false reports, or other circumstances.
