The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About JH Bookmarks & Notes
JH Bookmarks & Notes keeps your bookmarks and notes close at hand without taking them out of their folders or changing how you organize them in Chrome.
Search, filter, and sort quickly. Add notes when a link needs context, mark important bookmarks with a gem, and open a folder’s bookmarks in the background when you want to review them together.
You can also display a QR code for any bookmark and open it easily on your phone. The viewer keeps its folder context, lets you move through the other bookmarks in that location, and turns the title into a link that follows your opening preference.
Main features
• Complete search: find matches in titles, URLs, folders, and notes. Search is accent-insensitive, supports approximate matches, and shows where each result was found.
• Search from Chrome’s address bar: type bm, a space, and your query. Modifiers can be combined: bm +n budget searches notes; bm +m +u travel searches titles and URLs; bm +c clients searches folders.
• Formatted notes: add context with bold, italic, underline, lists, and links. The note icon makes annotated bookmarks easy to recognize.
• Featured bookmarks: mark important links with a gem and gather them with their own filter without moving them from their original folder.
• Open folders: open the bookmarks directly contained in a folder in new tabs. When search or filters are active, only matching bookmarks from that folder are opened. Tabs load in the background, and JH asks for confirmation before opening ten or more.
• QR codes: display a crisp QR code for any bookmark, identify its folder, and open the linked title using your preference. Move through the other results in that folder with Previous and Next or the keyboard arrow keys.
• Context-preserving filters: show featured, annotated, or recently added bookmarks without losing the folder structure. The recent period can be set from 1 to 366 days.
• Sorting: view folders and bookmarks in their current order, A-Z, or Z-A. Changing the view does not require Edit mode. If you want to make that order permanent in Chrome, you can apply it later through a separate confirmation.
• Two ways to view JH: use the floating popup or Chrome’s native side panel and switch between them from the header. The interface includes light and dark modes.
• Straightforward settings: adjust icons, link opening, visible URLs, the recent period, synchronization, language, and other preferences without cluttering the main view.
• Optional synchronization: when Chrome Sync is available for your account, notes and preferences can stay in sync across devices.
• Edit mode: delete bookmarks and empty folders in a controlled way. Everyday search, filtering, and sorting remain available without enabling it.
• Import and export: back up your notes and preferences and restore them when needed.
• Accessibility: move through bookmarks and folders with the arrow keys, Page Up/Page Down, Home, and End; return to search with / and use Tab to reach every control. Includes visible focus, accessible names, screen-reader announcements, and carefully checked contrast in light and dark modes.
Privacy
Complementa does not collect or receive your bookmarks, notes, or searches. Everything runs inside the extension. If you enable Chrome Sync, Chrome manages synchronization through your Google Account.
