The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Jellyfin VLC Bridge
Play your Jellyfin movies and episodes in VLC directly from their detail pages in Chrome. Jellyfin VLC Bridge adds a “Play with VLC” button and lets you prepare playback before opening the player.
Choose how to watch:
- Resume from the saved position or start from the beginning.
- Play one episode, the following episodes, a season, a series or a collection.
- Preview the list of media that will play.
- Select a file version when more than one is available.
You can remember your resume and playlist preferences on this computer. Use your usual VLC controls for audio and subtitles. If progress synchronization is enabled in the Windows application, your playback progress is sent to Jellyfin.
To get started, you need Windows 10 or 11 x64, Chrome, VLC, an accessible Jellyfin server and the separate Jellyfin VLC Bridge Windows application. The extension alone is not enough.
1. Install VLC and the Bridge application.
2. Connect the Bridge to your server using Quick Connect, enabled in Jellyfin.
3. Reload your Jellyfin tab, open a detail page and click “Play with VLC”.
Download the Windows application:

The interface is available in English and French. The extension processes the information it needs from the Jellyfin page and exchanges it locally with the Bridge. The application communicates with your Jellyfin server. There are no ads or telemetry, and no data is sent to the developer.
