Feedback / Feature request: https://forms.gle/EFixUed5F5bmVvFX7 FOCUS PRESETS — ONE CLICK, NO SETUP Switch instantly between three focus modes instead of hunting through settings: - Balanced — hides algorithmic rabbit holes, keeps subscriptions and comments - Zen — turns YouTube into a silent, search-only utility for deep work - Video Only — locks focus on the active video for lectures and tutorials BLOCK YOUTUBE RECOMMENDATIONS & ALGORITHM - Hide home feed recommendations, or limit the feed to 15 videos with a calm "you're all caught up" banner instead of infinite scroll - Hide sidebar and related video recommendations - Hide YouTube Shorts across every surface — home feed, sidebar, search, channel tabs — or redirect Shorts straight into the standard video player - Hide Explore, Trending, and "More from YouTube" promotional sections - Filter irrelevant search result shelves ("People also watched," "For you," "Related to your search") CHANNEL & KEYWORD BLOCKLIST - Block specific channels from ever appearing in your feed, search results, or recommendations - Hide videos whose titles contain keywords you choose - Runs entirely on-device — no channel or keyword data ever leaves your browser DAILY WATCH TIME LIMIT & FOCUS LOCK - Set a hard daily YouTube time limit — playback pauses automatically once you hit it - Soft reminder notifications at custom intervals (15, 30, 45 minutes) - Focus Lock: a PIN-protected cooldown that stops you from impulsively turning off your own limits mid-session - Scheduled blocking — automatically block YouTube (or force all protections on) during work hours, study time, or quiet hours, any day of the week VIDEO PAGE & PLAYER CONTROLS - Disable autoplay - Hide end screen recommendations and cards - Hide playlist panels, Mix/Radio auto-playlists, live chat, and merch shelves - Hide comments, or just hide comment avatars to reduce visual noise VISUAL DISTRACTION REDUCTION - Neutral thumbnail placeholders instead of clickbait images (titles and duration stay visible) - Grayscale mode — removes color from YouTube's interface - Clean, minimal 5-tab popup with live search across every setting WHY INTENTIONAL YT IS DIFFERENT Unlike other YouTube blockers, Intentional YT combines full recommendation/Shorts/autoplay blocking with actual time-management tools — daily limits, focus presets, and scheduled blocking in one free extension. No account required. No subscription, ever. No cloud sync. Zero telemetry, zero analytics, zero external network requests — every setting stays in your browser via local storage only. Fully open source on GitHub, so you can verify every claim yourself instead of taking our word for it. Works on Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Edge, and Arc. Built by one developer who got tired of losing afternoons to YouTube. Feature requests and bug reports go straight into what gets built next — feedback link is right in the extension.
