About InputKey — Multilingual Keyboard
Type at the speed of thought.
InputKey is a free, open-source, local-first multilingual typing extension. Write naturally in editable fields on websites without pausing to look up accented characters or switch keyboard layouts.
Supported input languages:
- Vietnamese — Telex and VNI, with Unicode tone marks, smart correction, and English-word preservation.
- French — French Telex for accented letters and ligatures.
- Danish — Danish Telex for æ, ø, å.
- Swedish — Swedish Telex for ä, ö, å.
- German — German Telex for ä, ö, ü, ß.
Choose a language and its available method from the popup. InputKey works in common input, textarea and contenteditable fields. Configure the toggle shortcut and language-specific options. Shift+Space restores the current token's physical keystrokes without inserting a space.
The shared deterministic Rust typing engine runs as packaged local WebAssembly. Typed content is processed in browser memory, not stored or sent to the developer. Only local extension preferences are saved. No ads, analytics, remote code or developer-operated typing service. Password fields are ignored.
The extension uses normal HTTP/HTTPS site access solely to handle typing in editable fields. It does not run on protected browser pages; some custom editors may not be supported. It is a browser extension, not a system-wide IME.
