The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About In'Seine Parental Web Filter
In'Seine is an easy-to-use web filter for families. You choose what it catches; your child never sees the rest.
It is built for younger children, and for accidental exposure — the search that turns up something it shouldn't, the mistyped address, the link from a friend.
WHAT IT DOES
15 filter categories, ticked on or off by you. Six are on from the start: adult content, gambling, drugs, vaping, scams and ransomware. You can add social media, gore and extreme violence, AI chatbots, proxies and VPNs, crypto, piracy, torrents, adverts and tracking. Each one explains itself in the settings, and the lists update themselves daily.
An allow list that beats the category filters. Allow a site and every page under it works again — for a school homepage caught by mistake, for example. Fixing a false positive takes ten seconds.
Forced SafeSearch on every major search engine, applied to the address itself so no account setting can turn it off.
The adult-content switch inside a child's own social media account put out of reach, so it cannot simply be switched back on.
A 4-digit parent PIN on all settings. Three tries, then a five-minute wait.
Free browser lock scripts for Windows and Linux. A browser extension cannot switch off private browsing or stop itself being removed — those are settings one level below the browser. The scripts close both, and cover every browser on the computer including ones In'Seine isn't installed in.
IT BLOCKS. IT DOES NOT WATCH.
Most parental filters work by monitoring — recording where your child goes and reporting it back. In'Seine doesn't. No reports, no screenshots, no location, no history of blocked pages. No account, no server. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is recorded, not even on your own computer. If you want monitoring, In'Seine is the wrong tool, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a missing feature.
The child-facing block page is calm and unremarkable — no warnings, no accusations, and no mention of what kind of site it was.
IN'SEINE UNLOCKED — £5, ONCE
The free version above is complete and not time-limited. One optional payment adds:
YouTube controls — hide Shorts, hide comments, block individual channels, filter search results by words you choose, keep age-restricted videos out of results, and an experimental ad blocker.
Browser Break — hours when the browser closes itself. Bedtime, homework, mealtimes. Extra time comes from the parent's PIN, granted there and then.
Blocking any site you name, whether or not a public list covers it.
No subscription, no account to create, and no card details held by us. One purchase covers every browser and computer in your household.
HONEST LIMITS
A private window bypasses any browser extension, In'Seine included. The free lock scripts close that, and the setup screen links to them , but until you run them, private browsing is an open door.
A browser extension lives inside one browser profile, so install it in each browser your child uses. It covers this computer — not phones, tablets or consoles. Anyone with the administrator password can remove it; giving your child a standard account without admin rights is the single most effective thing you can do. No filter list is complete.
Windows and Linux. Not supported on macOS.
