Impulse Check

Impulse Check helps you pause before opening distracting websites and decide whether you actually want to continue. Instead of completely blocking access, Impulse Check adds a short interruption between the impulse to browse and the website you were about to visit. When you open a site you have chosen to monitor, Impulse Check shows a series of funny, sarcastic, motivational, or thought-provoking messages before giving you two choices: Return to Work or Enter Anyway The goal is simple: turn automatic browsing into a conscious decision. Features • Add websites that tend to distract you • Set a current goal and see it during interventions • Choose from multiple coaching personalities • Get humorous, motivational, and reflective messages • Track how many browsing attempts were interrupted • See how often you chose to return to what you were doing • Keep your settings and activity stored locally in your browser Why Impulse Check? Traditional website blockers focus on preventing access. Impulse Check takes a different approach. You remain in control, but the extension creates a moment of friction before an impulsive visit turns into a long browsing session. It can be useful while studying, working, coding, writing, or doing anything that requires sustained focus. Sometimes all you need is a few seconds to realize: “I didn't actually mean to open this.” Choose your websites, set your goal, pick a personality, and let Impulse Check call you out when your habits take over. Pause the impulse. Check the choice. Get back to what matters.
