Image Text Extractor — Private OCR

Private region capture with a clearly labeled local demo and optional bring-your-own-key production OCR. Image Text Extractor lets you select a rectangular area of the current browser tab, crop it locally, and review the result in an editable window. How it works 1. Click the extension and choose Local demo or RapidAPI OCR. 2. Drag over the visible part of the page you want to process. 3. Review, edit, copy, or download the result. Modes - Local demo: runs entirely in the browser and returns deterministic placeholder text based on the selected pixels. It is not real text recognition and is labeled as a demo in the interface. - RapidAPI OCR: performs real OCR using your own Img2Text RapidAPI subscription and key. Only the selected PNG crop is sent to img2text2.p.rapidapi.com when you explicitly choose this mode. Provider quota and billing belong to your account. Privacy and permissions - No permanent OCR history. Results use browser session storage and disappear when the browser closes. - The optional RapidAPI key stays in your browser profile's local extension storage. - The extension does not send the full page, DOM, cookies, or browsing history. - activeTab and scripting are used only after you click the extension to select a region. - No all-sites permission and no persistent content script. The extension does not support file upload, clipboard upload, right-click image OCR, full PDF processing, handwriting guarantees, unlimited provider usage, or automatic background capture. OCR quality and availability in RapidAPI mode depend on the selected image and your provider plan. Version 1.1.0.
