IE Compat Bridge – Legacy Web Compatibility

Keep legacy intranet and ASP.NET WebForms pages usable in Chrome and Microsoft Edge when they still depend on IE-era JavaScript or DOM behavior. IE Compat Bridge is designed for old business web applications that mostly load in a modern browser but break on framesets, loading redirects, legacy event handlers, modal picker dialogs, or older WebForms controls. After installation, open the affected page, click the extension, and enable compatibility for the current domain. Chrome asks for access only for that site. When enabled, IE Compat Bridge can help with common old-page behaviors such as: - Empty frameset entry pages - Stalled loading redirect pages - IE-style event handlers such as attachEvent, window.event, and event.srcElement - showModalDialog-style picker flows - document.frames access patterns - Older WebForms date fields that call calendar() on focus The extension runs compatibility fixes only on domains you configure and authorize. It does not request access to every website at install time. Important boundary: IE Compat Bridge focuses on frontend JavaScript and DOM standards compatibility within modern Chromium browsers. It does not emulate a standalone legacy browser engine or execute native desktop plugins. Pages requiring dedicated legacy browser runtimes or local binary controls should run in a dedicated legacy environment or virtualization.
