About history++
Your browser forgets. It deletes your history after about 90 days, and it only remembers page titles and addresses. history++ keeps every page you visit, forever, on your own computer, and lets you find it again by describing what it was about.
Find anything you've seen
• Search by meaning type "that accelerator I applied to" or "the Lisbon flat near the tram" and get the page even if those words aren't on it.
• Search by words, site, and dates. Plain time words work too: "last week", "in September", "yesterday".
• Best match or newest first, with the matching passage highlighted.
• Works in English and other languages, including Bosnian, Serbian and Croatian.
Kept forever, privately
• Every visit is kept, with the readable text of pages you actually read.
• Your existing browser history is imported on install. You can also bring in history files from other browsers you've used.
• Everything is stored in a database on your computer. No account, no cloud, no tracking.
• Search by meaning runs on your device. It uses a small language-understanding model that is downloaded once (about 120 MB), when you choose to turn it on.
• Banking, email, sign-in and payment pages, and private windows, are never recorded. You can add your own sites to the "never record" list or pause recording any time.
See your browsing
• A timeline of your days, grouped into sessions.
• Insights: visits and time on the web per day, when you browse, top sites, and sites you came back to.
• A quick popup from the toolbar (Alt+H): search or reopen what you were just reading.
Safe from loss
• Automatic daily backup to your Downloads folder, keeping the last 7.
• Restore from any backup, or export to JSON.
history++ never sends your history, the pages you read, or your searches anywhere.
