About Herewise: Time Zone, Unit & Currency Converter
Herewise adds a small label next to times, units and prices on any web page, converted into what you actually use. Nothing on the page is changed or removed.
WHAT IT CONVERTS
- Times: "8 PM EST" gets a label like "02:00 +1 day" in your own time zone. It understands EST/EDT, CST, MST, PST/PT, GMT, UTC, BST, CET, EET, IST, JST, AEST and more, and ranges like "10am-2pm PT". Daylight saving is applied for the actual date.
- Units: degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius, miles and km, mph and km/h, feet, inches, pounds, ounces, stones, gallons, cups, grams, kilos, litres, decilitres, millimetres and more, in both directions. If you read in metric you see imperial converted, and the other way round.
- Prices: dollars, pounds, euros, yen and more than 30 other currencies, converted into yours with European Central Bank exchange rates.
MADE FOR EVERYDAY READING
Recipes from the US, flight and event times, webshops in another currency, sports and news with miles and degrees Fahrenheit. You do not copy anything into a converter, the answer is already next to the text.
CONTROL
Open the popup to see how many things were converted on the page, switch Times, Units or Prices on and off, pause the extension on a site, and set your time zone, currency, metric or imperial, and 12 or 24-hour clock. The defaults come from where you are (your time zone), so it works out of the box.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no tracking, no ads. The text you read never leaves your browser. The only network request is for exchange rates from api.frankfurter.dev (European Central Bank data), cached for 12 hours.
CAREFUL ON PURPOSE
It skips text fields, code blocks and editable areas, and does not treat "version 8 EST" or "5 PT sessions" as times. A $ sign means US dollars unless the site is Canadian, Australian and so on.
