Guard Your Mind

Browse Reddit without surprises. Guard Your Mind is a Manifest V3 extension that identifies 18+ subreddits, posts, search results, and sidebar modules the moment they load, then replaces them with a calming alternative so you stay focused on what you came to read. ### Key features - Instantly blanks NSFW subreddit feeds, home feed tiles, search results, and sidebar “Recent” or “Communities” lists. - Pick your blocking style: neutral placeholder, motivational quote, Bible verse, or full removal of the content card. - Toggle blocking on or off, decide whether to show the blocked counter, and switch styles directly from the popup. - Automatically remembers manually blocked subreddits and enforces an always-blocked domain list (e.g., redgifs.com) for extra coverage. - Keeps up with infinite scrolling and Shadow DOM updates without slowing your browser. ### Customization - The toolbar popup lets you enable/disable blocking instantly. - Choose how blocked cards appear: subtle placeholder, encouraging quote, Scripture verse, or nothing at all. - Optional session counter displays how many items were filtered so you know protection is active. - Manually add or remove subreddits from the block list when you want extra control. Preferences and lists are stored locally in Chrome storage. ### Getting started 1. Install the extension. 2. Browse Reddit as usual; mature content is replaced automatically. 3. Use the popup to change the blocking style or temporarily pause protection. 4. Review release notes (linked below) whenever a new version ships. ### Privacy & permissions - Requests access only to `https://*.reddit.com/*` so it can blank mature content before it appears. - Stores settings and blocked subreddit lists locally in Chrome/Chromium storage. - Sends zero analytics or tracking data—your browsing never leaves your device. ### Open source & support - Source, changelog, and issue tracker: https://github.com/StinusH/guard-your-mind - Open an issue if you spot Reddit layouts we should cover or have feature ideas. ### Release cadence - Every tag publishes a reproducible build with notes in the GitHub Releases tab. - Updates become available in the Chrome Web Store as soon as Google completes review. Keep Reddit productive and uplifting without giving up the communities you enjoy. Guard Your Mind replaces the distractions so you can stay focused on what matters.
