The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About gpt switch
gpt switch is a local session management tool for users who use more than one of their own accounts on the supported website. After the user explicitly saves the current signed-in web session, the extension stores the required account record in Chrome local extension storage. When the user selects a saved entry, the extension updates the site's required authentication cookies to restore that session.
Main features:
- Save the current web account selected by the user and show its local label, email, subscription status, and workspace name.
- Distinguish personal and workspace accounts under the same email when enough metadata is available.
- Switch the active web session after the user selects a saved entry.
- Let the user explicitly paste a personal-account access token, verify it against the supported service, then save and activate that account locally. Workspace accounts still require a normal web sign-in before saving.
- Let users refresh status, rename local labels, delete saved entries, and inspect the locally saved token expiration time.
- When the popup opens and the signed-in web account cannot be identified locally, read the site's session once to show the current account; other supported-site endpoints are accessed only after the user clicks save, refresh, or switch.
Data handling:
- Account data stays in the user's local Chrome profile.
- Personal access-token mode writes the active token into non-HttpOnly client-auth cookie chunks on the supported-site origin so the page authentication adapter can operate; scripts on that origin can technically read those active token chunks.
- The extension does not operate a developer server and does not upload account data to a developer server.
- The extension does not include ads, analytics, affiliate links, or prompts for ratings, reviews, or installs.
- Host permissions are limited to the supported website and the same service's legacy domain for the single session-switching purpose described above.
- This extension is not an official OpenAI product and is not affiliated with OpenAI.
