Glance

Eliminate the friction of looking up stock details while reading financial news. Glance is an ultra-lightweight, performance-first Chrome extension designed for retail investors and market observers. It automatically surfaces stock market data directly inside any article you read—without cluttering your screen or slowing down your browser. Why Install Glance? Entity-Based Recognition: Most tools only find tickers prefixed with a dollar sign (like $AAPL). Glance acts as an intelligent layer, recognizing standard plain-text company names organically written inside mainstream journalism. Zero-Friction Micro-Insights: Simply hover your mouse over any highlighted company name to reveal a tooltip containing live asset metrics: real-time stock price, daily change, high/low bounds, and previous close data. Direct Broker & Platform Routing: Click any highlighted name to instantly open a new tab directly to that asset's page. Glance dynamically constructs safe URLs to seamlessly route you to your preferred primary brokerage dashboard, popular market-charting utilities, or financial news portals where you are already authenticated. Privacy & Performance-First Engineering: Built with a viewport-scoped intersection observer, Glance never executes complex text scanning or natural language processing (NLP) until content is actively nearing your screen. This completely eliminates browser lag. All caching happens locally in memory, keeping your browsing fast and private. How It Works: 1. Install Glance and insert your free Finnhub API token via the extension popup. 2. Read your favorite news platforms as you normally would. 3. Watch relevant company names subtly highlight with a clean, dashed blue underline. 4. Hover for live pricing; click to route directly to your financial platform dashboard. Take control of your market research. Get market intelligence at a glance.
