Ghostkeep quietly saves your temporary chats, and the files in them, on your own computer, encrypted with a passphrase only you know. WHAT IT DOES • Saves temporary chats automatically as you chat. No buttons to remember. • Saves your files too: documents you upload, and files ChatGPT creates for you (Word, Excel, PDF, images and more), with the right file names. • Saves every open temporary chat at once, in the background, with one click. • Lets you read, search, copy and export saved chats as Markdown, and download their files. • Keeps an encrypted backup in your Downloads folder, so you can restore everything after reinstalling. • Supports light and dark mode. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Nothing ever leaves your computer. No accounts, no servers, no analytics, no tracking. • Every chat and file is encrypted (AES-256-GCM with an RSA-3072 key pair protected by your passphrase). • Saving works without your passphrase. Reading always needs it. • Optionally stay unlocked until Chrome closes, so you only type your passphrase once per session. HOW TO USE 1. Install Ghostkeep and choose a passphrase. 2. Start a temporary chat on chatgpt.com. Ghostkeep saves it as you go. 3. Click the Ghostkeep icon, then "Open saved chats" to read your chats, search them and download their files. GOOD TO KNOW • If you forget your passphrase, your saved chats can't be recovered by anyone. • Files you export or download from Ghostkeep are regular, unencrypted files. • Ghostkeep is an independent project.
