About gc(tab)
gc(tab) is a powerful, lightweight tab garbage collector for Google Chrome. It is designed to close tabs you aren't using, helping you reclaim system resources and maintain an organised workspace.
gc(tab) gives you full control over how and when tabs are closed. You can protect important ones, whitelist entire domains, and manage duplicate tabs with custom rules.
FEATURES
• Auto-Close — Automatically closes tabs that have been idle for too long.
• Dynamic Pressure Accelerator — Shortens idle timeouts when your system memory pressure is critical, helping prevent browser slowness.
• Live Performance Dashboard — Monitor system memory pressure in real time with interactive sparkline graphs and tracking details.
• Duplicate Tab Management — Detects and closes duplicate tabs based on the soonest-expiring tab timer.
• Custom Rules and Whitelisting — Set specific timeouts for individual websites or protect entire domains and tab groups from being closed.
• Local and Private — Your data never leaves your device. All settings and history are stored locally.
HOW TO USE IT
