The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About GAS Dev Tools
【Overview】
GAS Dev Tools is a Chrome extension that makes Google Apps Script (GAS) more comfortable to use.
In addition to bulk-downloading execution logs and automatically deleting old project versions, it adds dark mode, editor color themes, search and replace across all files, diff view, GitHub integration, ZIP export of your project and more.
Every feature can be turned on or off in the settings page, so you only use what you need.
【Execution logs】
Bulk download
Open the "Executions" page and click the extension icon. Logs that span dozens of pages are collected automatically, page by page, and saved as a text file.
・Automatically returns to page 1 first, so no data is missed when you start from the middle of the list
・Switches the page size to 200 rows automatically to reduce the number of page changes
・Shows real-time progress in percent
・Click "Stop and download what has been collected" at any time to save what has been collected so far
・TSV (tab-separated) format, so you can paste it straight into Excel or Google Sheets
Filtering on the Executions page
Adds a search bar above the table. Filter the rows on the current page by keyword and status (success, failure and so on). If you download while a filter is active, only the matching rows are saved.
【Project history】
Delete old versions automatically
Use this when saved versions pile up and deleting them one by one is tedious. On the "Project history" page, click the extension icon to run it. The current version and the newest versions you choose to keep stay, and every older version is deleted automatically.
・Choose how many to keep on the settings page (0 to 50, 3 by default). If there are no more versions than that, nothing happens
・Lists with more than 200 versions are loaded all the way to the end before processing
・Before deleting, it shows how many versions will be deleted and which range, and asks you to confirm
・You can stop at any time with "Stop". If the page reloads, it resumes where it left off
・If the open project changes during the process, it stops
【Editor】
Dark mode
Darkens the entire GAS screen. Images and videos keep their original colors. Until you save a setting, it follows your OS setting.
Editor color themes
Choose the editor colors from several dark and light themes. They are tuned to stay readable when combined with dark mode. For dark themes, you can adjust how black the background is with a slider.
Search and replace across all files
Searches every file in the project at once and lists the results by file. Click a result to jump to that line.
Supports case matching and regular expressions. Replacing takes two steps, "review, then apply", so you will not replace everything by accident.
Compare differences
Compares the current file side by side with pasted text or another file. Added and removed parts are shown in stronger colors, and the "Previous" and "Next" buttons take you through the differences one by one (the position is shown, for example "Difference 3 / 12"). Open it with Alt (Option on Mac) + Shift + D and close it with Esc.
Go to function / go to a definition in another file
Lists the functions, classes and methods of all files so you can filter by name and jump to them. It also supports jumping to definitions in other files, which GAS cannot do by default.
GitHub integration
Exchange your GAS code with a GitHub repository. Use it from the "GitHub" button at the bottom right of the editor.
・"Send to GitHub": choose the changed or added files, add a commit message and send them as a single commit
・"Import from GitHub": import the content from GitHub into the files that already exist in GAS (can be undone)
・Review the differences for each file
・Set the repository, the branch and the files not to send (regular expressions for file names) for each project
・No additional Google sign-in is required. Register a GitHub personal access token on the settings page
・If GitHub has newer updates, sending is cancelled instead of overwriting (no force push)
・Importing only overwrites the content of files that already exist in GAS. It cannot create new files in GAS or delete files
Download the project as a ZIP
Saves the files of your project together as a ZIP file. Handy for backups and sharing.
Code snippets, formatting on save and display settings
・GAS code snippets (sheet, fetch, lock, doget and more)
・Ctrl (⌘ on Mac) + S removes trailing whitespace and adds a final newline automatically
・Settings for font size, tab width, minimap, word wrap, showing whitespace characters, bracket pair colors and more
