About Freedam for Chrome
Freedam for Chrome puts your Freedam library in Chrome's side panel, next to the page you are working on. Find an approved image or video, then copy it, download it or drop it into the page, without switching tabs or saving files to your computer first.
Requires a Freedam workspace. Sign in with your Freedam account.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Search the whole library. Suggestions appear as you type, and the results match what search returns in Freedam itself.
• Filter the results to images or videos.
• Browse your collections and their sub-collections.
• Copy an image, then paste it into an email, a document, a slide or a chat message.
• Download an image or a video.
• Open an asset in Freedam to see all its details.
• Drop assets into pages as files (optional, see below): into an email, a CMS, a product form or any upload field.
DRAG AND DROP INTO PAGES (OPTIONAL)
Chrome does not let an extension's side panel hand a file to a web page on its own. To drop assets into pages as files, turn on "Drag and drop into pages" in the extension's Settings. Chrome then asks you to allow access to the sites you visit. The extension only acts when you drop an asset that you dragged from the Freedam panel: it gives that file to the page and reads nothing else on the page. You can turn it off again at any time in Settings.
Without it, copy and paste works everywhere and needs no extra permission.
FILES READY TO USE
Images arrive as JPEG, or as PNG when they have transparency, at a size suited to emails, documents and web pages.
LANGUAGES AND SHORTCUT
Available in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Simplified Chinese. Open the panel with the toolbar button or Alt+Shift+F.
PRIVACY
The extension stores your sign-in session and settings in Chrome, on your computer. It does not collect browsing history or page content, and it does not send data to anyone other than your Freedam server.
