About FrameKeep – Screen Recorder & Screenshot

FrameKeep is a free screen recorder and screenshot tool that works entirely on your computer. No account, no watermark, no time limit — and nothing is ever uploaded. 🎥 RECORD YOUR SCREEN • Current tab — records the tab with its sound, and you still hear it while recording • Area in a tab — draw a box on the page and record only that part • Whole screen or any app window — keeps recording even when Chrome is minimized • Area on the desktop — pick a screen, drag a region, record just that region • System / tab audio and microphone, mixed into one track (choose your mic) • MP4 or WebM, up to 4K and 60 fps, adjustable quality • Pause, resume, countdown, and stop from the toolbar or with Alt+Shift+R 📷 TAKE SCREENSHOTS • Visible area — Alt+Shift+S • Selected area — drag to select, Alt+Shift+A • Full page — scrolls and stitches the whole page automatically, hides repeated sticky headers, works with pages that scroll inside a panel — Alt+Shift+F • Desktop screen, any window, or a cropped region of it — pick the screen once, then every desktop shot is instant • PNG or JPEG, copy to clipboard, crop in the built-in viewer ✏️ EDIT, TRIM & GIF — ALL FREE • Annotate screenshots: arrows, boxes, circles, pen, highlighter, text and numbered steps • Blur / pixelate passwords, emails and other private info before you share • Undo / redo, colours and sizes, then save • Trim videos, or join parts of one or several videos into a new one (the originals are kept) • Turn a video or part of it into an animated GIF • Import your own videos and images (button or drag & drop) to edit them the same way • Remove a part from the middle, blur an area of a video, compress it to send by chat or email, or save any frame as an image 🛟 NEVER LOSE A RECORDING Video is written to disk while you record, not kept in memory. If the recording tab is closed or Chrome crashes, open the Library and recover what was recorded. Long recordings don't slow your computer down. 📂 SAVE WHERE YOU WANT • Save to Downloads (choose a sub-folder) or to any folder on your computer • Auto-save right after each capture • Copies that are already saved are cleaned up automatically to free disk space, and you can clear the library with one click 🔒 PRIVACY POLICY FrameKeep does not collect, transmit, sell or share any data. • It makes no network requests — nothing is uploaded anywhere, including to us. • Screenshots and recordings you take are stored only in the extension's local storage in your browser and, when you save them, in the folder you choose. • Settings (quality, language, save location) are stored locally in Chrome. • The microphone is used only while you record with it turned on, and only into your own video. • It never reads your browsing history; it only sees the page you capture, at the moment you capture it. • No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no account. • Delete anything in the Library, use "Delete All", or remove the extension to erase all of its data. Files you saved to your computer are not touched. 🌐 15 languages — English, Tiếng Việt, Español (España / Latinoamérica), Français, Deutsch, Português, Русский, 日本語, 한국어, 简体中文, 繁體中文, ไทย, हिन्दी, Bahasa Indonesia — following your Chrome language (or pick one in Settings). HOW TO USE 1. Click the FrameKeep icon in the toolbar (pin it for quick access). 2. Choose Screenshot or Record video, then pick a mode. 3. You stay on your page: screenshots go to the Library tab in the background (videos open it when you stop). There you can play, save, copy, crop or delete. GOOD TO KNOW • Chrome shows its screen picker and a “sharing” bar for desktop capture — a Chrome security rule. FrameKeep asks once per session; click “Hide” on the bar to keep it out of screenshots. • Chrome doesn't allow capturing its own pages (chrome://, the Web Store). Use the desktop mode for those. • On macOS, system audio for full-screen recording needs macOS 13 or later; tab audio always works. Questions or ideas? Email framekeep.support@gmail.com or use the Support tab — every message is read.
