FocusWave

FocusWave is your ultimate tool to stay productive by controlling access to distracting websites. Whether you're working, studying, or pursuing deep focus, FocusWave empowers you to block websites with precision and intention. Set custom schedules or indefinite blocks for any website, and ride out temptation with a deliberate 12-minute wait to unblock—designed to help you refocus and get back to what matters. Key Features: - Customizable Blocking: Add websites by domain (e.g., 'twitter.com' blocks all paths) or specific paths. Choose between: - Time-Based Schedules: Block sites during specific hours and days (e.g., Mon-Fri, 9AM-5PM) to align with your work routine. - Indefinite Blocks: Keep distractions fully blocked until you're ready to reconsider. - Ride the Wave: Unblocking a site requires a 12-minute wait per setting, giving you time to rethink and refocus. Blocking is instant, with no delays. - Inspirational Block Page: When a site is blocked, you're redirected to a clean page featuring a random motivational quote about focus (from a collection of 20+ quotes) and a log of your blocked attempts to track your progress. - Intuitive Interface: Click the extension icon to access a user-friendly options page. Add, edit, or remove websites, set schedules, and monitor active unblock timers with real-time countdowns. - Persistent and Reliable: Configurations and timers persist across browser sessions using Chrome's secure storage. Close and reopen without losing your settings. - Notifications: Get a friendly notification when a site becomes available after the unblock timer completes. - No Overrides: Stay committed with no emergency unlock—designed to reinforce your focus. How It Works: 1. Install FocusWave and click the extension icon to open the options page. 2. Add websites you want to block, choosing either a schedule or full block. 3. If you try to unblock a site, a 12-minute timer starts for that setting. Re-blocking cancels the timer instantly, but new unblock attempts restart it. 4. Blocked sites redirect to a motivational page with quotes and a log of blocked attempts. 5. Stay focused, knowing FocusWave has your back. Perfect for students, professionals, or anyone looking to minimize distractions and maximize productivity.
