About Flux - Download Manager
Flux connects Chrome to the free, open-source Flux download manager on your computer.
DESKTOP APP REQUIRED
This extension requires Flux 2.4.3 or later for Windows x64 and Linux x86_64. It does not download files by itself. Install the desktop app from:
https://github.com/Hactor00/Flux/releases/latest
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Send file links to your local Flux download queue from the popup or the right-click menu.
• Detect accessible video and audio streams on the current page, including HLS and DASH, and choose available qualities.
• Show or hide the in-page media download button, or use the popup's media list instead.
• Select several page links and send them together.
• Optionally hand browser downloads to Flux. Chrome continues handling a download until Flux confirms receipt.
• See the connection status, pending transfers and notices about new Flux releases.
GET STARTED
1. Install and open the free Flux desktop app.
2. Install this extension.
3. In Flux, open Settings → Browser integration and repair the browser bridge if needed.
4. Open the extension popup and check that the desktop connection is ready. Play a video to detect available media, or paste a file URL.
The desktop app provides the download queue, parallel transfers, pause/resume where supported, media processing and torrent management. These are desktop features, rather than a standalone torrent client in Chrome.
PRIVACY
Selected download URLs, media details and source-scoped session credentials are passed to Flux locally when needed for your chosen transfer. There is no Flux cloud account or analytics service. Release checks contact GitHub for version information without sending page URLs or browser cookies. See the linked privacy disclosure for details.
Media availability depends on what the website exposes to your browser. Flux does not bypass DRM, CAPTCHA or access restrictions. Only download content you have permission to save.
Flux is free and open source (MIT). Source code and support:
