About Floatlink: Floating Link Previews
Every link, one click away.
Floatlink opens links in a floating window right over the page you're on. Hold Alt and click any link: the page appears in a clean card, your current page waits dimmed behind it, and one press of Esc brings you right back. No new tabs, no lost place, no tab bar turning into a to-do list.
READ WITHOUT LEAVING
• Alt+click any link (or right-click › Open in Floatlink) to open it in a floating window
• Scroll, read, click and sign in, all inside the window
• Esc or click outside to close it; Alt+Shift+E to keep it as a full tab
• Copy the link with one click
WORKS WHERE OTHER PREVIEWS DON'T
Floatlink is built for real-world sites, not just simple articles. You stay signed in, and complex web apps, cloud consoles and dashboards keep working inside the window, including their menus, navigation and sign-in redirects.
MAKE IT YOURS
• Choose your trigger key: Alt, Ctrl, Shift or Super
• Set the window's width and height, with a live preview
• Turn blur, animations and click-outside-to-close on or off
• Switch Floatlink off for any site with one toggle
• Follows your light or dark theme automatically
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No tracking. No analytics. No data collected. Everything happens in your browser. Floatlink only changes how a page loads while you're previewing it, only for that page, and undoes it the moment you close the window.
LIGHT AS A FEATHER
The preview code loads only when you use it and cleans up completely when you close it, so pages you just browse aren't slowed down.
Tip: on Linux, some desktops use Alt+click to move windows. If Alt+click does nothing, pick another key in the Floatlink popup.
