The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Filter Google Results — No AI Overview
Google search results are increasingly filled with blocks you did not ask for. Filter Google
Results removes them and gives you back a page of plain, organic links.
WHAT IT HIDES
• AI Overview — the AI-generated summary at the top of the page
• People also ask — the box of expandable related questions
• Ads — sponsored results at the top, at the bottom, and in shopping carousels
• Videos — the Videos block and video carousels between results
Each one has its own switch. Turn off what you want to keep; the page updates immediately,
with no need to reload your tabs.
WHY IT FEELS FASTER
On a typical search, these blocks account for a large part of the page: in our reference
measurement, the page went from 3036 to 1834 pixels — about 40% less to scroll through before
the first real result. The extension also removes the empty spacer bars Google leaves above
the results.
NO FLICKER
The blocks are hidden by a stylesheet the browser applies before it draws the page, not by a
script that removes them afterwards. You never see an ad appear and then vanish.
PRIVACY
• No data is collected, and none is sent anywhere. The extension makes no network requests at all.
• The only permission requested is "storage", used to remember which switches you turned on.
• It runs only on Google search result pages. It does nothing on any other site.
• No remote code, no analytics, no tracking.
WHEN A FILTER STOPS WORKING
Google changes the structure of its pages regularly, and a filter can stop matching. A
built-in Diagnostic mode shows exactly which blocks are still recognised, so the problem can
be reported precisely. Updates follow.
Works on Google Search, on the main site and on its European and Canadian country domains.
