FasterGPT

FasterGPT is an open-source browser extension designed to help you monitor and optimize the performance of long ChatGPT conversations. It provides useful information about the current conversation and gives you lightweight controls to reduce unnecessary browser workload while using ChatGPT. Features include: • Conversation metrics — quickly see how many messages are currently in the conversation. • Estimated page memory usage — monitor approximately how much memory the current ChatGPT tab is using. • Performance controls — adjust optimization levels directly from the extension popup. • Reduced animations — optionally disable or reduce interface animations to make long conversations feel more responsive. • Conversation optimizations — applies lightweight browser-side improvements designed for long ChatGPT sessions. • Local-first — performance information and settings are processed locally in your browser. • Open source — the project is publicly available and designed to be transparent and developer-friendly. FasterGPT is especially useful for users who work with very long ChatGPT conversations and want better visibility into browser resource usage. The extension does not modify ChatGPT's AI responses or models. It focuses exclusively on the browser interface and client-side performance. FasterGPT is an independent open-source project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.
