The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About FactChecker Pro
Stop misinformation before it spreads. FactcheckerPro is a free browser extension that works silently in the background while you browse, and speaks up the moment it detects a false or misleading claim on the page you are reading.
FactChecker Pro helps you decide what to trust before you share it. It shows how credible a page is, highlights the claims worth checking, and points you to independent fact-checkers, all while you browse.
A credibility score on every page When you open a page, you see a score from 0 to 100 and a letter grade, with a plain explanation of what drives it: who owns the source, how reliable it has been, how it is funded and whether fact-checkers have flagged it.
Claims worth checking, highlighted Statistics, medical statements, political claims and dated facts are marked on the page. Open one to see what independent fact-checkers have published about it. If nothing exists, we tell you honestly.
Help with AI made posts and fake images On social media pages, a small indicator appears under a post when it looks likely to be AI generated, or when the platform has labelled it as AI. By default it stays quiet and only appears when it matters. In Settings you can choose how often it appears and turn it off for any site. Right click any image to run a reverse image search and see where else it has appeared.
Your own dashboard Keep a record of the pages you checked and watch your Transparency Score grow as you take part. The dashboard also has a fact-checked news feed, election claim checks for the Netherlands and other countries, podcasts, news videos and a daily game called Spot the Fake that trains your eye for fake headlines and AI pictures.
Education Hub Teachers, students and researchers can use classes, assignments, evidence boards and a citation assistant, in English and Dutch. Schools and universities can ask for a free 60 day pilot.
Make it yours Choose light or dark mode, pick an accent colour and decide how much you want to see. The floating panel is off by default.
Privacy Your browsing history is stored on your own device. We only receive data when you choose to submit a claim or sign in. You do not need an account to use the core features.
Languages English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
FactChecker Pro is free to use. Fact-check results come from independent organisations, not from us, and we always show where they come from.
