The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Evidence Snapshot
Evidence Snapshot saves the web page you are looking at as a self-contained,
independently verifiable evidence bundle: one ZIP file that anyone can check
later with standard tools, with no account and no special software.
Click the toolbar icon, press "Preserve this page", and the extension:
• Saves the page as a single MHTML file (the real text, links and images, not
just a picture), as soon as the page has finished loading.
• Takes a sharp full-page screenshot of the entire scroll height, not just the
visible area. Lazy-loading images are loaded first, pinned headers and
floating bars are hidden so they don't repeat down the image, and very tall
pages are split into several full-resolution PNG parts, never cut through
the middle of a photo.
• Handles posts that open as a pop-up (Xiaohongshu notes, Instagram posts):
captures the pop-up as you see it, plus its whole caption and comment panel.
• Computes a SHA-256 fingerprint of every file and combines them, the page
URL and the capture time into one "evidence digest".
• Timestamps that digest two independent ways: OpenTimestamps (anchored to
the Bitcoin blockchain) and RFC-3161 (a signed timestamp from the free
freetsa.org authority, precise to the second). Or tick "screenshot only"
for a quick capture without timestamps.
• Packs everything (screenshots, MHTML, manifest, plain-text summary,
step-by-step verification instructions and timestamp proofs) into
evidence-<id>-<date>.zip and downloads it.
Optionally paste an archive.today link first (from its "share" button). It's a
neutral third-party copy that survives the original being deleted, and it is
included in the digest too.
Private by design: everything runs on your own computer. The page's content
never leaves your machine. Only the 32-byte hash is sent to the timestamp
servers, and it cannot be turned back into the page. No analytics, no
tracking, no developer server, no remote code.
Bundles use the same format as the web version at evidence-snapshot.pages.dev:
drop a ZIP into its "Verify" tab to re-check every file, or upgrade a pending
OpenTimestamps proof once it is confirmed on the blockchain.
While a screenshot is being taken, Chrome shows a "started debugging this
browser" bar. This is normal: the full-page capture uses Chrome's built-in
DevTools screenshot function, and the bar disappears when the capture finishes.
Works in desktop Chrome, Edge and Brave (Chrome 116+). Not legal advice. For
important matters, also use a certified evidence service.
