Evergreen Notepad — Side Panel Notes

Evergreen Notepad keeps a simple, fast notepad one click away in your browser's side panel — next to whatever you're reading, on every tab, without switching windows. Open it with the toolbar button or Alt+N, start typing, done. No account, no setup, no cloud. Built so you never lose a note • Autosave on every keystroke — plus the moment you switch tabs, click away, or close the panel. There is no Save button because you never need one. • History snapshots: as you edit, earlier versions of each note are kept automatically. Overwrote something by accident? Restore any snapshot — restoring also keeps what's on screen, so nothing is ever thrown away. • Trash, not gone: deleted notes are kept for 30 days and can be restored with one click. • Backup and restore: export all notes as a single JSON file, or a single note as Markdown. Import a backup anytime — it adds notes, never overwrites. Everything you'd expect, nothing you wouldn't • Multiple notes with automatic titles (from the first line), a searchable list, most-recent first. • Word and character count, dark mode that follows your browser, Tab key indents. • Edits sync instantly between panels if you have more than one window open. 🔒 Private by design • Your notes live only on this device, in the browser's local extension storage. Nothing is uploaded, synced, or tracked. No analytics, no accounts. • No access to websites: this extension has no permission to read or change any page you visit. • Minimal Manifest V3 permissions — just the side panel and local storage. That's the whole list. Free, no upsell inside. If something doesn't work, use "Report a problem" on the options page — reports go straight to the developer.
