Essly – AI chat length, export & essence

Essly adds a small toolbar next to the chat input on claude.ai and chatgpt.com – tools for working with your AI conversations. WHAT IT DOES - Prompt library – save the prompts you use often and insert one at the cursor with a click. It is never sent for you. - Export – save the open conversation as Markdown, PDF or Word, print it, or copy it to the clipboard. Code, tables and lists keep their formatting, and the last format is remembered. - Conversation length – an approximate token count of the conversation and of the message you are writing, with a warning when the chat gets long. - Essence → new chat – when a chat grows too long, Essly shortens the conversation in your browser (tool output, duplicates and, if needed, older details are cut, each cut marked), adds an instruction, opens a new chat and pastes the package in. You check it and send it yourself; the chat's model then writes the essence – goal, findings, decisions, open questions – and you carry on from there. PRIVACY - Everything runs in your browser. No account, no analytics, no ads; the extension has no server of its own. - To count the length, it reads the open conversation from the site, in your browser. Your conversations and prompts stay on your device; the extension never sends them anywhere. - Only what you choose to send leaves your device: a problem report by e-mail and the optional survey after uninstalling.
