About Ears with AutoEQ

Ears with AutoEQ adds a real-time graphic equalizer to any tab in your browser. • 11 adjustable frequency bands on an interactive, draggable graph • Boost the bass, dim harsh highs, or bring vocals forward — instantly • Per-band Q control: scroll on a band's dot to widen or narrow it • Save, search, import and export your own presets; Bass Boost is included • Find your headphones in a bundled AutoEQ catalog with over 6,800 correction profiles: select a result to save it as a preset and apply it • Import additional profiles from autoeq.app using the "Ears" output format • Compare two EQ settings with A/B controls; Match Vocal aligns the EQ response level in the 300 Hz–3 kHz vocal band • Auto-gain sets recommended headroom; a clipping indicator flags overload • Live spectrum visualizer • Equalize multiple tabs at once using the same EQ settings • Works in incognito when you enable "Allow in Incognito" in Chrome • 100% local: no account, no tracking, no network requests — your audio and settings never leave your device How it works: enable the EQ on a tab and drag the dots to shape the sound. The extension processes that tab's audio in real time using the Web Audio API. Note: this is an independent rewrite inspired by the original "Ears" extension by Kevin King. The bundled headphone profiles are generated from the AutoEq project by Jaakko Pasanen (MIT license), with a +3 dB bass boost and +3 dB target max gain.
