About DraftGuard — Never Lose Text
DraftGuard helps you recover text you type into supported website fields if you refresh a page, lose a tab, or return to an unsent draft. It saves drafts locally and offers a recovery prompt when a matching saved draft is found.
**FEATURES**
• Automatically saves supported text inputs, search fields, textareas, and compatible editable text areas as you type.
• Restore or discard saved drafts after a page reload.
• Use the Draft Vault to search, copy, revisit, export, or delete saved text.
• Pause protection globally or exclude specific websites.
• Choose how long drafts are kept, with automatic cleanup.
• No account, cloud sync, analytics service, or paid API required.
**PRIVACY**
Draft text is stored in Chrome's local extension storage and is not uploaded to a DraftGuard server. DraftGuard avoids storing URL query strings and fragments and skips common password, credential, and payment fields.
No automated detector can identify every sensitive field perfectly. Local extension storage is not an encrypted vault, so avoid using DraftGuard for highly confidential information or on shared computers.
**COMPATIBILITY**
DraftGuard works best with standard text inputs, search fields, and textareas. Some custom editors, embedded frames, and complex web applications may not be fully supported. Recovered content may be plain text and may not retain formatting.
DraftGuard is a best-effort recovery tool and does not replace a website's own autosave feature. Always review recovered text before submitting it.
