About DocPilot: AI Editor for Word Documents
DocPilot puts your Word document and Google Gemini side by side, so you can improve your writing without copying text back and forth.
HOW IT WORKS
- Open any .docx file (or drag it in). Headings, lists, tables, links and images come across.
- Click "Review my document". Gemini gives your writing a score, a short verdict and a list of specific edits, each with a reason.
- Accept an edit in one click, or accept them all. Hover a suggestion to see exactly where it is in your document.
- When you're done, download it as a Word document again.
FOCUS ON WHAT MATTERS
Choose what Gemini looks at: overall quality, grammar only, professional tone, simpler wording, concise, persuasive or academic. You can also say who the document is for, like "a job application to a law firm".
QUICK REWRITES
Highlight any text to make it better, shorter, more formal or more casual, or to fix errors. You see the change before you replace anything.
CHAT WITH GEMINI
Ask for a conclusion, a stronger intro, a summary or a better title. New text arrives as a suggestion you can add with one click.
FREE TO USE
DocPilot runs on Google Gemini's free tier. Create a free key in Google AI Studio with any Google account, paste it in once, and you're set. No upgrade or credit card needed.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your documents and key are stored only in your browser. Text is sent to Google Gemini only when you ask for a review, rewrite or chat reply. Note: on Gemini's free tier, Google may use submitted content to improve its products, so avoid confidential documents.
Also included: autosave, undo for every change, Australian, British or American spelling, and a right-click option to send selected text from any website into DocPilot.
