Discount Debunker — Redact Fake Sale Prices

That "was" price crossed out next to the deal? It was often never charged. Discount Debunker blacks it out — like a marker on a classified document — so you see the price you'll actually pay, not the fiction it's compared to. Online shops run the same trick everywhere: invent a high "reference price", strike it through, and call the gap a discount. It works on you even when you know it's fake — that's how anchoring works. So this extension doesn't argue with the lie. It redacts it. WHAT GETS BLACKED OUT ✔ Fake strikethrough / crossed-out prices ✔ "You save X" claims (Ušteda, Sie sparen, économisez, and more) ✔ "-44%" discount badges ✔ Bogus reference prices (MSRP, RRP, UVP, "MP Cena", recommended price) The real price is never touched. Hover any black bar to peek at what the shop tried to pull — it's hidden, not deleted. WORKS ON EVERY SHOP, IN YOUR LANGUAGE On by default everywhere — no setup, no site lists to maintain. Detection reads price patterns and marketing cues in ~22 languages (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese), and the interface ships in 25. Turn it off per-site or globally from the popup. PRIVATE BY DESIGN — NOTHING LEAVES YOUR BROWSER No accounts. No analytics. No network requests at all. Nothing you browse is ever sent anywhere. Your settings live in your own Chrome profile. The privacy policy is one paragraph because there's nothing to disclose. TWO WAYS TO CLEAN A PAGE • Redact (default): black marker bar, hover to reveal • Hide: remove the fake price from the page entirely Detection is tuned for precision — it errs toward leaving prices alone rather than touching a real one. If a shop slips through, turn it off there in one click and report it. FREE FOREVER No ads, no premium tier, no data harvesting — ever.
