About Custom selection

Custom Selection lets you change the text highlight color in Chrome, including the background, the text, and more, with full control over how selected text looks on every site you visit. Chrome has no built-in setting for this. Custom Selection replaces the default blue selection color with anything you want, and applies it instantly with no tab refresh required. How it works: 1. Click the extension icon. 2. Pick your highlight background color and text color. 3. That's it. The change applies immediately, on every open tab, with no refresh. Beyond the basics, you can independently customize the text color, highlight background, and shadow diffusion. For deeper visual contrast, or simply to make selected text easier to read on dark backgrounds and low-contrast sites, you can also apply specific text decorations (such as solid, wavy, dotted, or strike-through lines) and set them to a different color than the text itself. If you'd rather not build a palette from scratch, browse the online theme library at noemf.re/themes and copy any highlight theme straight into the extension in a single paste. With the ability to set individual configurations for specific web domains and a single catch-all global style, you have complete agency over your digital workspace. Core features: - Change Highlight Color: Replace Chrome's default blue selection color with any color you choose. - Real-time Updates: Changes apply instantly, with no tab refresh and no browser restart. - Granular Color Control: Customize text, highlight background, shadow, and decorations separately. - Advanced Decorations: Add solid, wavy, or dotted underlines, overlines, or even strike-through lines with independent color settings. - Theme Library: Copy ready-made highlight themes from our online gallery. No setup required. - Domain-Specific Logic: Apply different styles to different websites, and set up a catch-all global style for the rest. - Clean Architecture: Lightweight and reliable performance across the modern web. Due to browser security protocols, Custom Selection cannot customize your text selection on the following websites: - Chrome Webstore - chrome:// internal URLs
