The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Currency Converter Tooltip
Hover over any price and see what it costs in your currency.
No clicks, no copy-pasting, no leaving the page. A small overlay appears with the converted amount and the date of the exchange rate.
It never touches the page.
This is the main difference from other converters. The price the shop displays is never replaced or modified: the conversion is shown alongside it. That way, when it is time to pay, you still see the real figure you will be charged. Altering a price before a purchase can be misleading, and this extension never does it — not even as an option.
What it handles
• Detects prices on any website, including shops that split them into pieces — as Amazon does with superscript cents. • Understands both formats: 1.234,56 € and $1,234.56. It knows a dot is a decimal point in dollars but a thousands separator in euros, so $1.234 and 1.234 € are not the same amount. • Resolves ambiguous symbols by domain: $ is the Canadian dollar on a .ca and the Australian one on a .com.au; kr is the Norwegian krone on a .no. • You can pin the source currency by hand for sites where it guesses wrong. • Available in English and Spanish.
When unsure, it stays quiet.
If a price is ambiguous and there is no way to know its real value, nothing is shown. A wrong tooltip on a price is worse than no tooltip at all, so the extension would rather say nothing than risk showing you a figure that isn't right.
Private by design
• Collects no data whatsoever. No analytics, no telemetry, no third-party components. • The content of the pages you visit never leaves your browser. Detection and conversion happen entirely on your device. • The single network request downloads the exchange rate table, and it is identical no matter what you are browsing: it reveals nothing about you. • Website access is an optional permission. It is not requested on install, only when you turn the switch on, and you can revoke it at any time.
About the rates
These are the European Central Bank reference rates, published once a day at around 16:00 CET, Monday to Friday. That is why the overlay always shows the date of the data.
Note that they are mid-market rates: your bank or card will charge between 0.5% and 3% more. The figure you see is the best theoretical case, not the exact amount that will appear on your statement.
