Copipe Notebook

Copipe Notebook is a side-panel notebook for saving text you discover on the web, adding meanings, and copying useful entries for later use. FEATURES • Save selected text using the context menu or keyboard shortcuts. • Keep the source page title, URL and saved date with captured entries. • Automatically categorize entries as URL, Email, Code, Term or Text. • Open Google Search to look up a meaning, then select explanations to add to the meaning field. • Edit, copy, recategorize and reorder saved items. • Review possible duplicates before adding similar items. • Switch the interface between Japanese and English. MARKDOWN AND OBSIDIAN Append entries to a Markdown file you choose, including files used with Obsidian. File selection and Chrome write permission are required. Do not edit the same note simultaneously in another profile or an external app such as Obsidian. Detected conflicts stop the note update while keeping the notebook item. Complete protection against simultaneous external edits cannot be guaranteed. This extension does not provide Obsidian itself or the Obsidian Sync service. SHARING BETWEEN PCS OR PROFILES Export and import JSON files to share entries. Optional folder sharing checks for additions about once a minute while Chrome is running. Cross-PC folder syncing requires a separately configured service such as Google Drive or OneDrive. Differently edited versions are kept separately. Deletions, ordering, file permissions and unsaved drafts are not shared. YOUR DATA Notebook data is stored within your Chrome profile. The extension does not upload notebook contents to a developer-operated server, display ads or track usage. Clicking Look up meaning sends a search query based on the item to Google Search. Entries are written to the Markdown file or sharing folder you choose according to your actions and settings. Review what you save and where you share it. The language setting changes the interface, not your saved text or meanings. Automatic translation is not included. Chrome restrictions may prevent capturing text on some pages. Requires Chrome 121 or later. The current release is free. No Copipe Notebook account is required.
