The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About ClipForge — Full Page Screenshot, Annotate & PDF
ClipForge is a free, no signup, no account screenshot extension for Chrome. Capture the full scrollable page, only the visible area, or any region you drag. Annotate with arrows, text, rectangles, ellipses, freehand, highlight, blur, and numbered steps. Export to PNG, JPG, or a lossless PDF. Copy to clipboard with a single click.
Why ClipForge
Most popular screenshot extensions paywall the features you actually need. Annotation, PDF export, and high quality full page capture are all locked behind a subscription. ClipForge ships every one of those features for free, with no watermark, no upsell, and no daily limit.
Three capture modes
- Full page. The entire scrollable document, stitched into one tall image. Sticky headers and floating elements are hidden during capture so the output looks clean.
- Visible area. Only what is currently in view. Single click, instant capture.
- Selection. Drag a rectangle over the part of the page you want. Pixel accurate cropping, no extra cleanup needed.
Eleven annotation tools
- Arrow, line, rectangle, ellipse, freehand pen, highlighter
- Text with adjustable font size and eight color swatches
- Numbered steps for tutorials and bug reports
- Blur for redacting names, emails, account numbers, or any sensitive content
- Crop, undo, and redo
- Soft shadow toggle for shapes that need to stand out on busy pages
Three export formats
- PNG, lossless and transparency aware
- JPG, quality 92 for smaller file size
- PDF, lossless single page that matches the capture dimensions exactly
- Copy directly to clipboard with Ctrl plus C
Keyboard shortcuts
- Alt plus Shift plus S, full page capture
- Alt plus Shift plus V, visible area capture
- Alt plus Shift plus C, region selection capture
- All shortcuts are user reassignable from chrome://extensions/shortcuts
Privacy by design
ClipForge captures and processes everything on your device. There is no upload, no cloud sync, no telemetry, no analytics, and no account. Your captures stay in your browser. The only network calls the extension makes are the ones you trigger when you save a file to your downloads folder.
Permissions, plain English
- activeTab. Required to grab a screenshot of the tab you are looking at when you click ClipForge or use a shortcut.
- scripting. Required to inject the capture logic on demand. Nothing runs in the background.
- storage. Required to remember your last twenty captures and your editor preferences locally.
- downloads. Required to save the PNG, JPG, or PDF you choose to keep.
- contextMenus. Required for the right click capture options.
ClipForge does not request broad host permissions. The extension does not run on a page until you explicitly ask it to.
Built for professionals
ClipForge fits the workflow of writers, designers, support engineers, QA testers, product managers, and anyone who needs sharp, annotated screenshots quickly. The dark studio interface keeps focus on your capture, the toolbar is keyboard friendly, and every export ships at full source resolution.
