About Clipboard History: 100% Local
I wanted a clipboard history for Chrome that does not send my copies to anyone, so I built this one.
It saves the text you copy or cut on web pages and lets you search it later. The history lives in your browser profile on your computer. There is no account and no sync, and the extension does not make network requests at all.
What it does
- Search by text, website or tag.
- Pin clips you use often. Pinned clips are never removed automatically.
- Add tags and filter by them.
- Click a clip to copy it again.
- Open the list with Ctrl+Shift+Y (Cmd+Shift+Y on Mac).
- Add a clip by hand.
- Keep up to 500 clips by default, or set your own limit. The same text copied twice in a row is saved once.
- Pause saving whenever you want, or turn it off for certain sites, like your bank.
- Export the history to a JSON file and import it on another computer.
Privacy
Clips stay in your browser profile. Nothing is collected or sent anywhere.
Passwords, card numbers, card fields and one time codes are never saved, including codes and card numbers inside copied text.
Access to websites is optional. After install the extension asks for it and tells you why it needs it.
Limits
Only copies made on web pages in Chrome are saved. Chrome does not let extensions read the system clipboard in the background, so copies from other apps are not visible to it.
Clips do not sync between computers.
