The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Clikr
Clikr turns your phone into a wireless laser pointer and clicker for slide decks that run in your browser, such as Google Slides or PowerPoint for the web. Rule of thumb: if it's a web-based deck, yes. The tested tools are listed at https://www.clikr.app
Hold the button and point to move a laser dot across the screen. Swipe to change slides from anywhere in the room.
How it works
The extension runs in Chrome on the presenting computer. The other half is a web page you open on your phone from a link or the QR code; nothing to install there, and you can add it to your home screen. Set up once: install the extension, scan the QR code, then hold to point.
Free, no account needed
- Laser pointer: hold to point
- Swipe to change slides
- Position in the deck and a progress bar on the phone, with slide-content access (not on every tool)
- Scroll and reload the presenting tab from your phone
- Play, pause and skip a standard HTML5 video on the presenting tab while it is playing or paused part way, once you allow slide-content access
Pro, one-time payment
No subscription, no renewals. Sign in to try Pro free for 14 days (no card; a verified email, one trial per account; it reverts to free when the trial ends) or to buy it once.
- Connect without scanning: reconnect to a computer you have paired with before, without the QR code
- Presentation timer
- Spotlight: dim everything except the area under the dot
- Page click: tap to click at the matching point on the screen
- Speaker notes (not on every tool; the list is at https://www.clikr.app)
- Slide preview: see the next slide before you get there (same tools as speaker notes)
- Magnifier: enlarge part of the live screen in place, following the dot
- Draw mode: pen, eraser and clear all
- Custom pointer colors and a pointer trail
What it does not do
It controls decks that run in a browser tab, not native desktop presentation apps that have no browser version, and a PDF open in the browser's built-in viewer is not reliably supported. When your deck runs in a native app, a hardware remote is the better choice.
Privacy
Your two devices talk over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection, direct whenever your networks allow it. Where they do not, the encrypted traffic is relayed by a relay provider that cannot read it. A signaling server exchanges the short connection handshake while you pair, and keeps a pairing record if you turn on Connect without scanning. Slides, speaker notes and previews never reach our servers and are never stored. Privacy policy: https://www.clikr.app/legal/privacy
