About CleanTable — Copy Web Tables to Spreadsheets
Copy a table from any web page and paste it where you need it, without the mess.
When you copy a table from a website and paste it into a spreadsheet, you usually get one giant cell, numbers stored as text and merged rows that break the layout. CleanTable fixes that. Right-click the table, choose "Copy table", and paste: every cell lands in its own column, headers are detected, merged cells are expanded, checkboxes become true/false and numbers stay numbers.
What you can do with the free version:
- Paste into a spreadsheet by columns, with no row limit.
- Save the table as a CSV file.
- Copy the table as Markdown or JSON for notes, documentation and AI assistants.
- Preview the table in the popup, exclude columns and choose whether the first row is a header.
- Works on classic HTML tables and on modern grid widgets, including those inside frames and shadow DOM.
- Removes images, icons, links, hidden rows and other clutter automatically.
Pro (one-time payment, three browsers):
- Export all tables of a page into one XLSX file.
- Merge paginated tables from several pages into one file.
- Capture virtualised grids that render rows only while you scroll.
- Normalise number and date formats from different locales into real numbers and ISO dates.
- Typed XLSX output, per-site presets and a richer Markdown profile for AI assistants.
How to use: right-click any table and pick CleanTable from the context menu, or click the toolbar icon to open the preview. Hotkeys: Alt+Shift+T copies the table under the cursor, Alt+Shift+M copies it as Markdown.
Privacy: tables are processed locally in your browser. There are no accounts and no cloud processing; page content and URLs never leave your computer. The extension only sends anonymous statistics about which of its features are used, and you can switch that off in Settings. It asks for access to a page only when you click.
